Violence and Abuse Prevention

Our free Violence and Abuse Prevention programs are designed for students in grades K–12 and are carefully adapted to be age-appropriate at every level. These school-based sessions teach students how to build healthy relationships, recognize unsafe situations, and speak up when something doesn’t feel right.

We offer programs that empower students to become advocates for their own safety and the safety of others, all while aligning with the CASEL framework for social-emotional learning.  A trained program coordinator from our team provides these sessions on campus, and any teacher, counselor, or school staff member can request them.

  • Safe to Speak: Developed by Family Guidance & Outreach, this program empowers students to recognize and report unsafe situations. Rooted in the CASEL framework, trauma-informed care, and bystander intervention strategies, the program uses age-appropriate lessons and real-life scenarios to help students build confidence, empathy, and communication skills while identifying trusted adults and using their voice to keep themselves and others safe.

  • Say SomethingThis free, school-based program developed by Sandy Hook Promise that teaches students in grades K–12 how to recognize warning signs of potential violence, speak up to a trusted adult, and take action to protect themselves and others. This empowering program helps build a culture of safety, trust, and accountability among students and school communities.

  • Shaken Baby Syndrome PreventionOur free Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention program, designed for middle and high school students, teaches the dangers of shaking an infant and how to respond safely to a crying baby. Students learn about infant development, safe soothing techniques, and the lifelong consequences of abusive head trauma—equipping them with knowledge that can protect the most vulnerable.
