  • Our SBS Program Provides:

    • Education about the dangers and lifelong consequences of shaken baby syndrome

    • Strategies for safely managing stress and frustration as a caregiver

    • Practical tips on calming a crying infant and handling challenging moments

    • Information on identifying risk factors and early warning signs

    • Resources and materials to help caregivers keep infants safe

    • Free, accessible workshops delivered in community settings (schools, hospitals, childcare centers, and more)

    • Supportive, judgment-free environment for learning and discussion

All of our SBS Prevention Educators are certified through the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome, ensuring we deliver accurate, evidence-based information. We utilize their specialized curriculum alongside The Period of PURPLE Crying, helping caregivers understand infant crying patterns and develop effective coping strategies to protect children from preventable harm.

Family Guidance & Outreach is proud to be the only nonprofit in Texas offering this essential training virtually and free of charge, making lifesaving education accessible statewide.
