Shaken baby syndrome is a serious brain injury resulting from forcefully shaking an infant or toddler. It's also known as abusive head trauma, and is a form of child abuse that can cause permanent brain damage or death.

Family Guidance and Outreach is the only nonprofit organization in the state of Texas that offers free online parenting classes covering the Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome and the Period of Purple Crying.

Our agency has three parenting educators who are certified in the Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome.
